Background
MzTek is a not for profit cooperative group supported by Space in Hackney. They aims to extend career development and education opportunities for women working or wishing to work in computer arts sectors, new media art and electronic art
Statement
They create workshops from begingers to advanced .Like Electronics for Absolute Beginners, Toy Hacking and make your own solar powered robot bugs. These are just a few of the great workshops they have created. They are very affordable and materials are normally supplied. Its a great chance to network as well.
Mz Tek also provide peer to peer learning for woman , a skills exchange open to the MzTEK group. Much more informal than the workshops, and free. The idea is to organize small informal tutorials where we can share skills we already possess.
They also host talks with a range of speakers who practice computer art, new media art, activism, curation, and promotion, Designed as an opportunity to shut your laptops for an evening, and draw on the skills and experience of the media arts community. Talks are informal and held in pubs, they are free to attend.
