Background
Caroline studied in Birmingham on a degree course in Industrial Ceramics and Glass. She is based at her studios in the Chocolate factory and exhibited her installation and drawings in group shows and open studios. Caroline has been shortlisted several times for her outstanding public art projects
Statement
Caroline is working on am ongoing exploration into the perception of three dimensional forms. To do this she creates immersive environments, which play with relationships of structure, complexity and scale. Making a room or specific space the starting point. She introduces structures in a variety of manufactured materials- some found. Some sourced. Caroline is also looking at what we perceive to be matter and density and the thresholds of matter / void. She also questions the perception of void, which often differs, as the scale is altered. The work is abstract and frequently uses personal contextual experience as a starting point.
