Statement

Often depicting retreat, my recent work is interrelated capturing the concept of space in its entirety, encompassing the connection space has to time and movement. The exploration into geometry and physics has enabled me to take a closer look at nature and has helped me comprehend the association between rhythm, pattern and the formation of growth. My practice has been enthused by the interest I have in the fundamental science of mathematics and the connection this has to the very core of one's existence. My work advocates organic and free flowing structures whilst the composition recognises the interplay between geometric sculpture and architectural space . Although the work requires meticulous application, my aim is to conduct fluency rather than impose regimental order that can hopefully be recognised to follow the laws of nature rather than resisting it. Paper and card are frequently used as a medium to convey the importance of recycling and emphasis the endurance and resilience of nature, whilst expressing fragility of form.
