Background
Tracy Sarroff Born in Australia now based in London. She graduated in Australia with a BA in Fine Art (Hons) in 2001. Tracy has exhibited in Australia and UK in many group shows and solo exhibitions. She has achieved commissions and grants in Australia and UK.
Work has been published in the following publications Arts review, Vogue Living Magazine. The Age Newspaper and Art link magazine. Tracy also teaches in Spain, UK and Australia and Art therapy in Vienna.
Statement
My practice is cross-media. Ideas relating to ecology and overlapping concerns between art and science underlie the majority of my projects, whilst their form stems from basic structural compositions of living things, their growth and transformation. Patterns, structures, and fragments are sifted from the natural world and recombined. Transgenics, biotechnology, botanical illustration, microscopy, and science fiction have been some major themes fuelling my explorations to date. Often which, can relate to contemporary society and new movements in scientific research.
