Living London constructs researched talks and tours of historical London, that started in 2001 by Kim Dewdney. After qualifying as a blue badge holder, for talks and tours around the historical city. Kim moved to London in 1982 and was working in nursing in London hospitals, working for a medical charity and a trade union in their education departments and finally running political offices for Members of the both the European and the British Parliaments. After these career moves Kim now offers her historical knowlege and years of reasearch, in talks and tours of London.

Living London, has worked with many clients, from corporate businesses to private parties, including talks at events and parties, to guided walks about historical London and tours in museums. Including educational days for students.

I developed a fascination for London's out of the way places - which can be found in the most surprising of places.  Ever stone seems to have its own story and the sheer beauty of London is its ability to speak to everyone regardless of interest.

My interest in underground spaces was heightened as a result of working in the Houses of Parliament where so much more is made possible by moving from one building to the next via tunnels unseen to the public.  If these were hidden then what else was around set me thinking and researching the spaces underneath central London and a Subterranean London walk was born.  See the clues that show us the extent of the Thames in the early 19th century; the deepest underground station in central London; hear about the bodies that no longer lie underneath the Abbey and what is that huge brown concrete block on the edge of Horseguards Parade for?  A fascinating walk that will have you asking "what's beneath me?" for weeks to come.

Today my work takes in a huge variety of groups of individuals not all of whom could be described as "tourists".  In addition to visitors from overseas I show London and its history to school and college groups, University of the Third Age, Rotary and Probus Clubs, businesses with visiting clients or training days, friends celebrating weddings, birthdays and family celebrations.  My walks and tours are as diverse as my clients and I take on bespoke tours for specialist jobs.  From 9 year old children, studying Victorian London, to Dutch law students visiting the Inns of Court, from families seeking mummies in the British Museum to team building days in the National Portrait Gallery it's all here waiting to be explored.
