Background

Helena and Ilizane started working together in their second year at circomedia. firstly training in acrobatics and then began to develop visual pieces of work which then inspired them to begin to play around with lighting and the visual effects that can be created. this also led them to start creating fire performances which also combine aerials and acrobatics

Statements

Helena Griffiths grew up in the rural town of herefordshire. after having studies fine and applied arts at the herefordshire college of art and design decided to start creating live and visual art and at the same developed a passion for areal skills and a more a more sculptural approach to circus skills using her body as a medium of self expression.

Ilizane Broks has trained in shukaki karate to an international level, representing England in Berlin, and has achieved her black belt second Dan. Before training at Circomedia she taught G.C.S.E drama for Fairfield high school. She has worked in several countries round the world including Thailand, Germany, and the U.S.A and has travelled around many more. She started her performing career as a dancer and wants to create work that combines different mediums.
