Illumini's next free event's are Illumini Event 2010, presents 'Secret Subterranean London' starting on Thurs 9th Sept 2010. Open 7 days a week 11am-7pm free.Opening night Thursday 9th Sept 6pm-10pm all welcome free entertainment.

Crypt-mas Event opening night Dec 2nd 2010 from 5pm-9pm. Free entertainment for all the family, fire performers, jugglers, stilt walkers, light shows, futuristic Santa and mulled wine.Event runs through to 22nd Dec open every day from 11am- 8pm free,

GETTING INVOLVED


There are many ways you can be involved with Illumini, from exhibiting artists, to individuals and businesses. lllumini is a non-profit event designed for the people and will always be a free event. Because of this we need your help to be able to produce future events, not just from corporate companies for sponsorship, but also from individuals.we wold also like to hear from individuals that want to volunteer in the set-up or steward , for the opening night. Your comments and suggestions are welcome as well as submissions from artists. (To submit artwork to Illumini Crypt-mas, please see links below)


Everyone taking part, from stewards to businesses, gets a profile page and promotion. Illumini offers a fantastic opportunity, not only to be part of a fun event , but will create a business link and promote you and your practice, including a full profile page in our directory. Being part of Illumini will also create large networking opportunities and ongoing advertisement and commissions for future projects. This could help any creative individual involved in an artistic practice, for promotion, networking and learning new skills. Illumini takes promotion very seriously, and will do what ever we can to promote, not only any creative person, but also any business or individual who supports the arts.

Know of a unusual space that will suit an Illumini Event ? Then please let us know. Any suggestions you have, drop us an email, as the event is designed for you.

If you would like to be a volunteer for the next event, either by stewarding or by being involved in the set-up, or tracking down sponsors and funders or serving a few drinks to the guests on an opening night , please get in touch.

Event Details

Title: Illumini presents- 'Crypt-mas' ©2010
Venue : The Crypt Gallet St Pancras Church Euston Rd London
Dates : Thurs 2nd Dec 2010- 22nd Dec 2010
Opening Night: Thursday 2nd Dec 2010
The Opening night will consist of the full grotto , with illuminating art work, by individual artists. During the course of the evening, there will be performers all working with light; including fire performances, illuminating juggling, dancers, singers, light shows and much more.

Crypt-mas will be a free alternative Christmas art experience, for all ages, created inside a subterranean labyrinth. The venue is a dark underground church crypt, with alcoves and arched ceilings, the fantastic setting and atmosphere, for an alternative Christmas grotto. Including children's workshops and Illumini's very own futuristic Santa (art Installation)

The ceilings are low , please bare this in mind. The building is listed, so no holes are to put into the walls for fixing, but existing holes and screws can be used. You will be responsible for installing your own work . Our guests will be all ages including children.

Before you complete it you will need to make your £5 Submission fee
Fee
There is a £5 submission fee, we don't like having to charge artists, being artists ourselves, we know how hard it can be, but your £5 goes towards the cost of promoting the artists at the event, via advertisement, including banners, flyers , posters and over a 1,000 press releases sent out with all chosen artist's details on. Each selected artist gets a full page on our directory with galleries, statements and contact details.

We take no commission on any sales or commissions you gain through us, and we work voluntary to promote you as artist's. You can submit up to 8 artworks for £5.

If sending an online application please pay via Pay pal using the Personal payment owed option. Using our email address add the payment ref no. to the submission form and email it back to us with your Jpegs

Or if posting your application, please make cheques payable to 'Illumini and send your completed form and jpegs on a disk

Volunteers we are looking for volunteers to help in a number of ways; stewarding and invigilating, event organising, and designers for flyers and banners (in-design knowledge is a bonus)

There is also the opportunity to be promoted at our events and receive our monthly newsletter full of opportunities and arts news. Submission Performers

Illumini is looking for performers for the open evening of our events.
Next events will be Illumini Event held in September 2010 and Crypt-mas held in December 2010.Both Events are in London locations.

Call for performers & Entertainers
Applications are invited from performers of all disciplines, working in illumination from individuals to groups.If your performance involves light or can be adapted to glow or lights up in any way, we want to here from you. We will also be looking for any performers with a festive theme, for our Crypt-mas Event themed on Christmas. We are looking for performers that can entertain the crowds outside and possibly in.

Illumini Event Sep 2008, attracted over 3,000 people on its opening night and 7,145 guests during its two weeks. Artist's and performers from professionals-students gained commissions, sales and major press coverage and interviews through Illumini. We take promotion very seriously and have a great track record with our featured artists.We promote artist's & performers from any background and at any stage of their career.You can check out our website, for comments and press at www.illuminievent.co.uk.

Illumini takes no commission and is a not for profit organisation and will work with you to promote you through the event and even after, you will have your own profile page in our on-line directory, with galleries, statement email and website links. You will be promoted at the events and on all 10 foot banners on the Euston road, you will also be on all invites and 20,000 leaflets and posters distributed through London. You will be included in 1,000 press release sent out and included in the event program. Last year,after the event, our performers were selected and put through by Illumini to appear in an Olympiad Event 'Light Up', where they gained a paid commission.

Submission details

Your performance or act can involve
Fire, illuminating juggling, stilt walking, walk around's in costume, live statues, magicians,ice sculpture, face painting, dancers and singers, anything is consider as long as your can include illumination into the performance or a christmas theme for the Crypt-mas event.
If your performance involves fire, we will need to see a copy of your insurance.

    If you would like to be involved in Illumini and feel you may be able to help out for a few hours, with any of the positions below, or would like to learn new skills, then drop us a line.We hold work placement opportunities as well as, voluntary casual positions and some commission and expenses paid opportunities.All positions are very flexible and leaving you to work from home if you prefer.

    By being part of Illumini from a few hours stewarding to part time positions, we will create a business link and promote you and your practice, including a full profile page in our directory with galleries, statements email and website links and promoted at Illumini Events, put forward for relevant commissions and we will work with you to promote your business or creative practice .Being part of Illumini will also create large networking opportunities and ongoing advertisement and commissions for future projects.

    • Sponsorship Finder - commission and expenses paid position
    • Graphic designers - in-design software knowledge preferred or similar, to work with the Founder to design banners, posters flyers and programs into the appropriate software.- Voluntary
    • Photographer - photographing art work on site and also covering the opening night, all images sent to the press, will have your name included as the photographer-voluntary
    • Researchers- finding venues,artists and products-voluntary
    • Prop makers & sculpture artists- to make temporary props for the events- small budget for materials.
    • Lighting experts - helping out at events and sourcing temporary loans of equipment- Voluntary
    • Volunteers for the events, consists of many tasks from stewarding to vigilating
    • Electronic technician - opportunity to work with the Founder Jane Webb. Will need good electronics knowledge in working with sensors, sounds, and possibly programming.
    • Performers - that can incorporate illumination into their performance, for the opening night, ie: fire performers, illuminating juggling, circus skills, dancers, singers, glow in the dark face painters, anything considered.

Corporate & Small Business

If your business involves lighting and you would like to gain publicity, illumini would like to hear from you. All types of lighting from LEDS to outdoor lighting, large and small scale projections & projectors, light effects, smoke machines, screens for computer graphic visuals. Do you make glow items i.e.; glow sticks, torches and t shirts. literally if your products illuminates we want to hear from you.

It's not just lighting companies that can get involved, we will require reprographics for banner, leaflets and t- shirts. Refreshments for the opening evening are also required. We would really like to hear from any corporation or businesses that would like, to support the arts and in return gain a lot of publicity.
